Eco future in front of us? Prius

As usual when I've got nothing to do at work, I've got a lot to do in my mind.
And this time I thought about pollution and cars.

The future is here, not in front of us! Why?
Because from 1997 there is a car that is polluting far less then conventional cars. Toyota Prius. Now there are a lot more, but that was the first to be sold in large numbers. And still is sold.
It is a hybrid, it means that uses dog and duck food to go (this is a strange reference to a strange comic, let's find it out, if you can!), or, better, it uses gas and electricity to run.
It uses 4.5 litres per 100 kilometres in a combined use.
Costs around 23,000 €.
A normal car, like ours that is a Renault Clio, is around 6.6 l/100 km.
If you drive 30,000 kilometres a year, at 1 € per litre, the difference is 630 €.
Not that much, but it's the beginning. And you don't need to plug your car, no?
