Google Sky Maps and Mercury

Volevo scrivere a lungo di Gareth Thomas, perché un outing tosto come il suo mi pare difficile trovarlo (giocatori di calcio gay? Qualcuno me ne segnala qualcuno?). Volevo dire che, sebbene sia uno dei giocatori fortissimi, a me non è mai piaciuto molto. E volevo dire che è un grande, comunque. Poi peró, da ieri, sono un fortunato (o sfortunato, che parlando di tecnologia si è tifosi e mai obiettivi) possessore di un HTC Magic. E ci ho installato l'app per vedere il cielo. E vedi il cielo! Le stelle! E muovi il cell e si muove la parte di cielo. E così ho scoperto che c'è una congiunzione Plutone - Giove (queste cose le sapevo leggendo l'Astronomia, una volta!) e che si poteva vedere Mercurio appena sopra l'orizzonte. E l'ho visto. A occhio nudo. E sticazzi.

I would have written a long post about Gareth Thomas, because a hard outing like that it has been a real great achievement (gay football player? Somebody would like to tell me one of them?). I would have said that  even if he is considered one of the strongest rugby player I've never liked him that much. And I would have said that he is a great, watever. But yesterday I've come into owning one HTC Magic mobile phone. And I've installed an app to see the sky. And the sky you see! The stars! And you move the cell and the sky moves. And so I discovered that there is a conjunction between Pluto and Jupiter (this things I used to know reading l'Astronomia when I was a child) and that I could see Mercury just above the horizon. And I've seen it. Bared eye. Yep.
